If you have been using the iOS Mail App with your sebts.edu email address, you may run into an error after enabling MFA. There are two ways to rectify the situation, both are explained below.


Switch to Microsoft Outlook Mobile App (recommended)

  • Download Outlook for iOS
  • Enter your sebts.edu email address, then click Add Account
  • Enter your account credentials and click Sign In
  • You will be prompted to verify your identity using your MFA method, do so
  • Accept any Microsoft prompts for permission that you may receive


Re-setup iOS Mail App

In order to continue using the iOS Mail App, you will first need to remove your sebts.edu account from your iPhone:

  • Go to the Settings app on your iPhone
  • Scroll down and select Mail
  • Click Accounts
  • Click on your sebts.edu Mail account (this may be listed as Exchange)
  • At the bottom, select Delete Account

After deleting the account, it is time to add the account back to your phone:

  • Click Add Account at the bottom of your Accounts list
  • Select Microsoft Exchange
  • Enter your Email address
  • Change the Description field if you desire
  • Click the blue Next button at the top right of the screen
  • A pop up will ask you to sign in to your sebts.edu account. Click Sign In
  • A new window will pop up prompting you to login to your sebts.edu account. Enter your credentials and click Sign in
  • You will be prompted to verify your identity using your MFA method, do so
  • Accept any Microsoft prompts for permission that you may receive
  • Disable any features you do not want to use with your sebts.edu account
  • Click Save

Your email account should now work on your iOS Mail App. However, it will take some time before all of your emails show up in the mail app. You may want to change your default Calendar or Email in your phone's settings, depending on your preferences.
