This article provides helpful instructions and best practices for accessing your section rosters in Self-Service.

  1. Log into Self-Service.

  2. Navigate to Faculty Overview page either by…

    • selecting the Faculty tile on the home page

    • selecting the triple bar menu icon in the top left, selecting Staff & Faculty Pages, then Faculty, and then Faculty Overview.

  3. On the Faculty Overview page will be a list of sections for each term.

    • For now, key information includes the section code and name, meeting times/dates, location, and availability.
    • The Availability column shows the number of “available seats / total seats in all cross-listed sections / waitlisted students”, in that format. So, 3 / 10 / 0 would mean there are 3 more seats available in that section, with a capacity of 10 seats between all the cross-listed sections, and 0 students on the waitlist for that section. Mouse over or tap the blue information icon to see a legend as a reminder.
      • See the screenshot above as an example of cross-listed sections.
      • Note the global capacity, the middle number, is the sum of total seat caps for all cross-listed sections.
      • The first number for each section is how many seats are available for that section (e.g., 37 for the in-person section and 0 for the LIVE section).
  4. Select a section to see the RosterWaitlist, and other details.

    • Here on the Roster tab you can see the basic details of the section as well as the enrollment roster.

      • This roster includes students in all the cross-listed sections, indicating which are in sections other than the one you’ve selected.
      • The Pass/Audit column indicates whether a student is an auditor.
      • The Preferred Email column should include their student email.
      • You can Print the roster, Export it to CSV, or select Email All to start an email that bcc’s all emails listed on the roster.
    • On the Waitlist tab, you have a similar table to the Roster tab with the student names, which cross-listed section they are waitlisted for, student ID, and email.

      • You can also see when they were added to the waitlist, their status details, and their class level (if undergraduate).
      • This tab also has an Email All option that functions like the Roster tab.
    • Note the Deadline Dates in the section details. This will bring up a list of important dates for the term, including the last day to add, drop, and withdraw, as well as when grades are due and Incompletes are converted to Failed Incompletes.
