On occasion you may want to embed an image directly onto a course section.  The steps below show how to do this and add a caption, if desired, on a Windows computer:

  1. When looking at the original image source on your computer, right-click it and select Save image as and put it into a location in your computer files.
  2. In the course: Click Turn editing on then go to the week you want and click Add an activity or resource
  3. Click the Label icon and drag the file from Windows File Manager into the Label text section.  [Note that the dragging method is much simpler than using the "Insert or edit image" icon].
  4. If you want a caption over the image, press the Enter key on your keyboard to add a blank line (or lines) above the image for the description.
  5. Click your mouse above the image and type in the heading you want.  (You can use formatting and spacing so that it looks like what you want).
  6. Click Save and return to course
  7. You should see the image and heading on your course page (example below):
    • NOTE: If you want to adjust the size of the image:
      • Turn editing on (if not on already) and go to the course section with the image.
      • Click the small Edit pulldown to the right of the image at the top, and click Edit settings.
      • Double-click the image to open the Image properties window.
      • Change the two numbers in the boxes to adjust the width and height.  (Leave Auto size selected to keep the size proportional].
      • When done, click Save image and Save and return to course.
