You may find it helpful to place quiz questions into certain categories in your course in order to better organize the quizzes.  Here are the steps for doing that:

Creating a New Category:

1. From the CampusNet page for your course, click the "Actions menu" cogwheel at the top right, and select “More.”

2. Scroll down to “Question bank” and click Categories.

3. Scroll down to “Add category” section near the bottom.

4. Normally you will select the “Parent category,” pull-down and select the "Top for (your course ID)" which is located at the top of the list.  [If instead, you have a reason to put the new category under an existing category, select the existing one as the parent].

5. In the "Name" field, enter a name for your new category. (It is probably best to name it whatever the quiz/exam is named).  You may also put a description into the "Category Info" field, if desired.

6. Click Add category.

Adding Questions to a Category:

  1. Go to “Questions” tab at the top of the Question Bank page..

  2. From the list, select the category to which you want to add questions.

  3. If adding a new question, click the Create a new question button and follow the standard procedure.

Moving Questions to another Category:

  1. If you want to move an existing question, use the "Select a category" pull-down and select the category where the question currently exists.
  2. Select the checkboxes to the left of any questions you want to move.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom, and in the "With selected" pull-down box, select the category into which you want to place the questions you have selected.
  4.  Click the Move to >> button.  Your question(s) will move to the selected category.
