In order to capture lectures to put on a course's home page, you must first download and install Panopto (Lecture Capture software) on your PC or Mac computer and also perform the simple steps to provision it onto your course page.  This article will show the steps for that, and we also recommend you watch the video linked at the bottom of this page for a better understanding of the process.  Once you have Panopto on your computer, provisioning it on each of your courses is a quick process.

Installing Panopto on your Computer:

1. From your browser, go to sebts.hosted.panopto.com , leave the top pull-down as Campusnet Account and sign in with your CampusNet username and password.

2. Once you are signed in, just below your name at the top right, click the Download Panopto link and follow the prompts to download and install Panopto (similar to installing other apps on your computer).  Panopto automatically checks your operating system, and the screen should show the version that's best for your computer. (See example screenshot below).

[If you are sure it has not picked the right one, you can click the download options to select another one. Panopto works with Windows 7 and up, and with macOS 10.13 and up].

Provisioning Panopto to your Course:

(Do this for each course you want to connect to Panopto)

3. From a browser window, log in to CampusNet, click the Menu pull-down and select My Courses and go to the course page you want to edit..

4. Turn on the Edit mode switch (top right of screen, next to your profile picture):

5. Click the Add a block button near the top right of the screen (visible when the Block drawer is opened).

6. From the list that comes up, choose Panopto:

7. In  the Panopto block that appears in the right margin, click Provision Course. This action creates a corresponding folder in Southeastern's Panopto server that has the same title as the course code.

8. When the Successfully provisioned course message appears, click the Back to course link to return to your main page. For a newly-provisioned course, you should see a block similar to this screen shot:

9.  After provisioning the course, click Course Settings under the Links section of the Panopto block.

10.  On the Panopto course page that appears, click Share in the left menu.

11.  In the page that appears, go to the Who can access this folder section and click  the Change link, then in the pop-up window, click the setting:  Anyone in your org who has the link and save the setting.

When you use Panopto to record a new video for this course, it will appear in the Completed Recordings section once it has been processed.

If instead of creating new Panopto videos for this course, you want the block to show a different Panopto folder that already has videos, configure the Panopto block to point to that folder as follows:

1. Click on the Actions menu (cogwheel) inside the Panopto block and choose Configure Panopto block.

2. From the drop-down menu, choose the folder you wish to access via the Panopto block, and click Save changes. (If you cannot locate the folder you wish to use, it might be because you do not have access).

3. You should now see the Panopto block populate with the content of the folder to which you just configured your block.

4. If later you want to go back to the original unused block, click Configure Panopto block and remove the connection you created in step 2 above by clicking the Unprovision this course from the current Panopto folder link.  When done, click Back to course.

5. Now to get to the new provision for this course, return to the course page and click Provision course. in the Panopto block.  (This puts you back where you were in step 8 in the above section).

After recording a video with Panopto, here's how to get it to show up in the Panopto block:

Once Panopto has completed processing your video, if your video link is not under the Panopto block of your course, click Configure Panopto block and  click the Sync this course to Panopto link and when you see the Successfully provisioned course message, return to your course home page to see the content in the Panopto block.
